North America (Spanish: América del Norte or Norteamérica; French: Amérique du Nord) is the northern continent of the Americas, situated in the Earth's northern hemisphere and in the western hemisphere. It is bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the North Atlantic Ocean, on the southeast by the Caribbean Sea, and on the west by the North Pacific Ocean; South America lies to the southeast.

North America covers an area of about 24,709,000 square kilometers (9,540,000 square miles), about 4.8% of the planet's surface or about 16.5% of its land area. As of July 2008, its population was estimated at nearly 529 million people. It is the third-largest continent in area, following Asia and Africa, and the fourth in population after Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Why is there such a poor selection of potato chips (crisps) available in North America compared to the UK?
Q. The UK must be the potato chip capital of the world! Every combination of flavour and texture is available. And the best that's available in North America? Lays. Boring, artificial tasting with a limited range of flavours. However, if you've never been outside of North America you wouldn't know what you're missing.

A. I had no idea! I guess the companies which exist in Britain or Europe don't operate here, frito-lay and others must have a virtual monopoly over the North American chip trade. The bastards.

How did the political factors contribute to the enslavement of Africans in North America?
Q. How did the economic, geographic, and political factors contribute to the enslavement of Africans in North America?

A. It had a lot to do with it from both sides. Africans were selling there own people who's villages were captured. This helped Africans because at the time the West cost of Africa wasnt able to get a lot of things imported in so selling the people allowed them to pay a lot more for people to deliever to there region. It helped America cause this place has always been built on cheap labor. Political wise it was a lot larger in Africa. IT allowed some people to take power while others lost everything. In North America getting slaves didnt hit polotics until the slaves had been here for a while and some decided that they felt slaves were human also.
